Skills
A skill is a saved way of working that Manwe can use again: how to prepare your weekly brief, review a contract, plan a trip or organize research. Start from Manwe's library, or write your own.
Skills live in Settings › Skills, in two tabs: Libraries and Your Skills.
Start from the library
Libraries holds ready-made skills for everyday work, grouped into categories like Thinking and decisions, Writing and communication, Money and paperwork, Health, Home and life, Learning, Documents and data, and Marketing and growth. Search, or pick a category.
Press Activate and the skill is available in new conversations across your worlds. Click a skill to read its instructions first. Some mention optional downloads, which Manwe offers only when a task needs them.
To make one your own, open it and press Customize. Manwe saves an editable copy as a draft in Your Skills; edit it, then activate it.
Choose Browse collections for maintained community libraries and the skills directory. The ready-to-use Manwe adaptations include their source and license in the preview. Community packages can require tools or plugins beyond their instructions; importing a skill does not install those tools.
Write or import your own
On Your Skills, choose Create skill and fill in:
weekly-brief.To bring in a skill from elsewhere, choose Import and pick its folder or its SKILL.md file.
Skills you create, import or edit start as drafts, and a draft does nothing. Open it, choose Review and activate, check the instructions, files and scope, then Activate skill. The filter at the top of Your Skills shows what Needs review.
Skills from your answers and your tools
When an answer shows a way of working you'd like to repeat, open its … menu and choose Save as skill…. Manwe puts a request in your composer; send it, and Manwe writes a skill draft for you to review.
AI tools like Claude Code and Codex can draft skills too, once you turn on Let AI tools work on skills in Settings › Access & approvals. Each draft says who prepared it, and stays inert until you activate it.
An agent's own procedures
Agents can develop and revise procedures during background learning. These are versioned, owned by that agent and scoped to the relevant conversation or Worlds. They do not overwrite your own skills or become available to every other agent. Inspect Own procedures on an agent's card. Newly written procedures are labelled untested; execution evidence is needed to show that they work.
Use it in a conversation
In chats, workflow runs and second opinions, Manwe can find and load an active skill whose description fits your task. Agents can also use applicable skills during background learning. Deep Review uses a separate research pipeline and does not currently load these skills. To pick one yourself, type $ to see active skills for the current context and filter by name or description, or choose Skills from the composer's + menu, preview it, and press Insert. Use the arrow keys to choose, Return or Tab to insert, and Escape to dismiss. Nothing is sent until you send the message. / still opens actions and @ opens agents and teams.
A task keeps the exact version of a skill it started with. Editing, disabling or removing the skill affects future tasks, never work already in progress. The answer's Activity shows which skills and versions were used.
Keep the instructions current
If an inactive skill fits your request, Manwe can suggest it. The review shows its source, scope and exact instructions. Choose Enable and continue for a skill you disabled, or Activate and continue for a new one. Your task can then load it and carry on. Choose Not now to keep it inactive and stop that recommendation for this task. Background agents can suggest a skill without waiting for a hidden review.
Select a skill to Edit, Duplicate, Export or switch it off. The version menu shows the active version and any draft, so you can compare before activating a change.
